This video discusses various types of chemical exposure cases, particularly in the workplace. Common examples include latex allergies and carbon monoxide poisoning. It also highlights the dangers of asbestos and PFAS, known as forever chemicals, which can lead to serious health issues. The importance of identifying the source of exposure is emphasized for building a strong case.
Common types of chemical exposures include allergies to materials like latex and serious conditions like carbon monoxide poisoning. Asbestos and PFAS are also significant concerns due to their long-term health effects.
To determine if you have a chemical exposure case, it's crucial to identify the source of the exposure. Consulting with experts who specialize in chemical exposure can help assess your situation.
If you suspect chemical exposure, seek medical attention immediately. It's also important to contact legal professionals who can guide you through the process of identifying the exposure and potential claims.
Chemical exposure cases covers a very broad range. What I'm gonna do is try and narrow that down and give you example of cases that Tom and I have handled since we formed McCutcheon and Hamner. Now, the most common place that we see chemical exposure cases is in the working environment. For example, there used to be a tire plant in Madison County near Huntsville, and I represented numerous employees who worked in that tire plant who had developed a latex allergy, or an allergy to rubber. And it so affected their lives that they could not wear teeny shoes because of the rubber. Even their underwear could not have elastic in the waistband. They could not wear any type of clothing that had any type of rubber component to it, or they would have a severe allergic reaction. That's one type of chemical exposure. There's other types of chemical exposure cases. There are work environments. I represented a family whose husband died when he suffered carbon monoxide poisoning inside of a plant that was not properly ventilated. That's another type of chemical exposure cases. And the problem with carbon monoxide in that situation was he didn't know what was happening. Carbon monoxide is odorless, and he got real sick, he passed out, and he died there in the plant. It was a horrible, tragic case. One of the most common types of chemical exposure cases that we see today, and you hear about it on TV, is asbestos. The other one that's kind of really new and out there is PFAS. PFAS are forever chemicals, and much like asbestos, they create certain types of diseases. For example, with asbestos, there is only one type of cancer that is due to the exposure to asbestos. If you have that, then you have a case. The other one that we're hearing about, like I said earlier, is what we call PFAS, are the forever chemicals. These are chemicals that have been made, and once they're made or created, they don't dissipate. Even time doesn't shorten their lifespan. And these chemicals now are being found in our drinking water, in our food sources, in various things throughout our daily lives. And due to their carcinogenic nature, they're causing all kinds of cancers, the most common being what I call the flushing cancers, cancers in the kidneys, cancers in the bladder, and they're due to these PFAS, or these forever chemicals. Tom and I are handling these cases and the wealth of other types of exposure cases, but the key in all of these cases is getting you to the right expert who can identify the exposure. That is the key. And Tom and I have created a group of experts who we can send you to or send your loved one to. And we can determine, number one, do you have a chemical exposure? And number two, is there some type of case that we can bring in your behalf? Can we identify where that exposure came from? That is the key. Most of the time, those type of cases are won or lost by identifying the source of the exposure. If you have this type of case, give Tom or I a call. We'll get you to the experts, we'll get you to the right treatment facilities, most importantly, and we'll help you in this journey.
