Entries on staircases are common, more common than you might think. Staircase rules are embedded by statute and codes. Staircases have to have a certain rise and run, and what that describes is how long the stair goes out and how far it goes up. It's called rise and run. When builders deviate from known codes, they have created a situation that will eventually cause a fall. And when that fall happens, they're responsible for not following the code. Occasionally, we will see staircases that are made out of non-conforming materials like particle boards. And sometimes stairs collapse. And when those happen, you have to, again, look for rules that weren't followed. Staircase injuries are very common. They happen all the time. Sometimes they're slick. Sometimes they're slick with grease in a grocery store setting where you have to go up to a different floor. You look for foreign substances. You look for non-compliance with rise and run state codes. And you also look for non-conforming materials that are weak or should have been serviced. We see a lot of these. We'll be happy to help you with a staircase issue if you have one. We'll be happy to help.
